America’s post-war infatuation with Tiki and Island culture was evident in the huge number of Polynesian-themed restaurants, bars, hotels, drinks and designs that mushroomed like crazy throughout the 50s and 60s.

And it was all largely due to the entrepreneurial zeal of just a few men.  While some were ultimately more successful than others, each of them made defining contributions to the enduring appeal of Polynesian Pop.
